TANKINI (Sadie / Tannrr of G.L.O.S.S.) - do u suk (CASS)
TANKINI is an Olympia, WA band that plays with the same grit in their hard-hitting pop-punk as bands from the other side of the country like Philadelphia’s Swearin’ and Brooklyn’s Chumped. Sonically, they’re characterized by savagely strummed power chords propelled by supportive, confident drumming that weave in and out of the rhythmic cadences sung by vocalists/instrumentalists Erica, Eli, and Sadie. No expense is spared to achieve the style popularized by Latterman and before them, in a much more reserved way, Go Sailor. Even their feedback is underpinned by melody. It’s not much of a surprise that the dynamic shifts and experienced songwriting that really bring out the best in this bands EP are brought to us by two of the kind people who brought us the already legendary hardcore band G.L.O.S.S. and the well-loved Peeple Watchin’, as well as the chief songwriter of Olympia, WA hometown favorite Margy Pepper.
